George The Boss

George The Boss, also known as GTB, is the performing name of Adelaide DJ George Damis. Part of the city’s original 1990s rave generation, he helped establish Adelaide clubbing alongside figures including HMC and MPK. His sets centre on classic house, rave and old-school dance music, drawing on the records and mixing style that shaped the era while retaining the energy of a working party DJ. George’s history includes appearances at venues such as The Synagogue and Cargo. A late-1990s set at The Synagogue was filmed for Alchemy, SBS television’s national program devoted to electronic music, preserving a view of Adelaide club culture from that period. In 2005 he appeared at Cargo Anthems, playing club classics alongside Jayse, Audioporn, Reelax and Skot Holder. He remains active at reunion nights and vinyl-focused events, often appearing with MC Maestro D. George The Boss brings lived history to the booth, presenting old-school music as a dancefloor sound rather than a museum piece.
