George The Boss

George The Boss, aka GTB and George Damis, is one of Adelaide’s long-serving dance music DJs, with a history stretching back to 1987. His early years included Magnet’s, Resurex, The Hindley Asylum and Arena, plus parties such as Night Train and The Realm. By the early 1990s he was firmly established in Adelaide’s growing club and rave scene, known primarily for house while freely moving through dance and techno. GTB’s approach has always been about reading the floor, teasing a crowd and building energy rather than being tied to one narrow style. His history runs through venues including The Synagogue and Cargo, with a late-1990s Synagogue performance captured for SBS electronic music program Alchemy. Decades later he remains active behind the decks, regularly returning for reunion parties, old-school events and vinyl-focused nights.
