ESF aka Shane Francis

ESF, aka Shane Francis, is an Adelaide DJ and member of Dance Floor Heretics, associated with the Underground Session series. His sets draw on the force of 1990s rave while remaining rooted in techno, linking dance history with the city’s current underground. At the first Underground Session, he opened with Adelaide classic “Life Support System,” summing up his approach: respect for the records that formed the scene, played for a present-day floor rather than as a museum piece. The series has grown through events and sell-outs, with ESF appearing alongside residents and interstate guests. Underground Session 5 at Cosmos Club placed him on a techno lineup headed by Melbourne veterans Dave Pham and Matt Radovich, while Xmas in July paired pounding techno with a house and progressive room. His booking for DISCO, BABY! shows a broader side, moving into disco, funk and Afro house. Across these settings, ESF brings experience, continuity and an instinct for music that keeps dancers engaged.
