Dance Floor Heretics is an Adelaide electronic music collective created and driven by Nathan “BOF” Hughes, with roots reaching back to the city’s early-1990s rave culture and the Continuous Flow era. What began from a lifelong involvement in underground dance music has grown into a home for events, releases, livestreams, writing and limited-run rave wear. Techno sits at the core, but Dance Floor Heretics has never treated genre as a rulebook. Its nights move through techno, house, progressive, trance and rave, with an emphasis on selectors having enough time to build a proper journey rather than racing through short festival-style sets. The project also keeps Adelaide’s dance history in circulation, connecting veteran DJs and old-school culture with current artists and new audiences. The idea remains simple: music first, community close, and the dancefloor as a place to be present rather than perform for a screen.
