Jorge Watts
Also known as: Wattsy
Jorge Watts is an Adelaide DJ and producer whose work has carried South Australian house and techno onto international dancefloors. Active since the late 1990s, he has released music as Cycloid, Tokyo 3, Aztec Kid and Mr. WattO, while also working in Loop Killaz and The Subjekts. His productions have appeared on labels including Global Trax, WET Musik, Hard Hat, 1200 Traxx and Undefined Australia. Loop Killaz tracks gained support from Carl Cox and appeared on international mix compilations, while Watts’ “Up to the Sky” was remixed by Chicago house figures Derrick Carter and DJ Sneak. A period living and performing in Chicago strengthened the raw, stripped-back house and techno influence heard throughout his catalogue. He has played across North America and supported artists such as Jeff Mills, Carl Cox, Derrick May, Richie Hawtin and Adam Beyer. Still active in Adelaide, Watts continues to connect the city’s techno heritage with present-day warehouse parties, clubs and outdoor events.
