Damage aka Damian Chase

Damage, also known as Dr Damage, is Adelaide DJ Damian Chase, a long-serving figure in the city’s trance, hard-dance and rave community. Active since at least the early 2000s, he became associated with System 6 and Rush, with a recording of his April 2002 Rush set preserving the fast, energetic sound of that era. Known among Adelaide ravers as “the king of the close,” Chase built his reputation through late-night and closing sets designed to keep the floor moving when others were ready to stop. His history includes appearances alongside local favourites and visiting artists at events including System 6, Trance Anthems, Heaven on Earth and the Enchanted-related circuit. More recently, Damage has remained part of Adelaide’s old-school revival through Mayday at the Old Adelaide Gaol, Reunion Festival and Vinyl Destination events. Whether billed as Damage or Dr Damage, he represents a link between Adelaide’s early-2000s hard-dance years and the reunion parties carrying that music forward.
