Jaki J is a long-serving Adelaide DJ, MC and party host whose career spans more than 25 years. A familiar face from The Planet’s weekly Timewarp nights during the 1990s and early 2000s, he built his name on playful presentation, broad musical knowledge and an instinct for bringing mixed-age crowds together. His sets can shift from acid jazz, funk and house to disco, retro, pop, R&B, dance classics and punchy Top 40 remixes, with costumes, humour, crowd interaction, Chupa Chups and the occasional tambourine all part of the experience. Beyond clubs, Jaki has hosted Adelaide’s Australia Day parade at Elder Park and counted down the Glenelg New Year’s Eve fireworks before a crowd of around 40,000. He also helps run Do You Remember House, celebrating the house, rave and club records that shaped Adelaide dancefloors. Still active at festivals, hotels, wineries, corporate functions and themed parties, Jaki J combines an experienced MC’s confidence with a DJ’s sharp reading of the room.
