Andy J aka Andrew Gayler

Andy J is Andrew Gayler, and the DJ work sits alongside a considerably larger day job. He is managing director of AJS Lighting Sound Events, the Mile End South production house established in 1996, which supplies audio, lighting, video, rigging and staging across South Australia and is the largest provider of in house audio rental to Adelaide venues. That gives him a fairly unusual vantage point. Most DJs on a lineup turn up to play; he is as likely to have specified the rig they are playing on. The family owned company runs a team of around ten, handles venue installations end to end, and stocks the sort of inventory that turns up at festivals rather than at pub gigs. Behind the decks he keeps to the nostalgia circuit. Vinyl Destination have him on Come Together 6 at the Arkaba, a vinyl fuelled Halloween rave running seven till three across two floors, seventeen local names deep.
