Scott T, aka Scott Thompson, is one of the recurring voices of Adelaide’s early dance and rave history. In 1990 he co-presented Club Escape, Triple J’s Adelaide Saturday-night dance program, alongside Stilgherrian, with John Thompson-Mills producing, while also associated with Metro on Rundle Street. As MC Scott T his name runs through the surviving club and rave record of the early 1990s: Heaven, Disco, Luna, Inquest at the Old Adelaide Gaol, Jigsaw at the Vision Warehouse, Evolution ’93, Circus! Circus!, the Arkaba farewell for Brendon and the Carl Cox event at the Synagogue. He helped connect radio, clubs, promoters, DJs and the emerging rave scene when dance music still had little mainstream airtime. Scott T returned for the 1998 Old School Anthems reunion at Heaven II alongside MC Tim and Maestro D, with later reunion appearances continuing the connection. Across radio, promotion and the microphone, Scott T is woven through Adelaide club culture from its formative years onward.
