Groove Terminator aka Simon Lewicki

Groove Terminator is Simon Lewicki, and the career is close to four decades deep. He started out spinning records at the community radio station his parents founded in Adelaide, came up a hip hop purist, then found house and became the first Australian DJ signed to a major label. ARIA nominations followed for Best New Artist in 1998 and Best Male Artist in 2000. In the mid 2000s he formed Tonite Only with Sam Littlemore, a run of singles and remixes that travelled well beyond home. The live work is where he has spent recent years. Ministry Of Sound Orchestrated put dance anthems in front of a symphony orchestra, and History Of House took the idea further, pairing him with the Grammy winning Soweto Gospel Choir to trace the music back from disco through the underground queer clubs of America. The album was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 2024 ARIAs, and the show has sold out seasons across Australian arts festivals and at the Edinburgh Fringe.
