Angu$ aka Angus Sanders

DJ Angu$ is Angus Sanders, a defining selector from Adelaide’s early rave movement. Active by 1990, he became a regular across the city’s warehouses, clubs and large parties, appearing at Voyage, Under One, Psychosis, Meltdown, Fascination II, Kaleidoscope and the Old Adelaide Gaol’s Ultraworld. His sets covered hardcore, techno, hard dance and the faster end of rave, earning him a place beside local names including Uzi, MPK, Noddy, Brendon and Maestro D. Angu$ also supported touring acts on landmark Adelaide bills, including The Prodigy at Meltdown and Carl Cox, Judge Jules and Laurent Garnier at Planet of Love. His History of Hardcore mix, reportedly aired by Triple J during the mid-1990s, remains an online record of his fast, vinyl-led sound. Later appearances have included Heaven reunions, Vinyl Destination events and celebrations of Adelaide club history. More than thirty years on, Angu$ remains closely linked with the music and community that shaped the city’s original rave era.
