Vinyl Destination

Run by: Brendon

Vinyl Destination is an Adelaide old-school dance music project created by DJ Brendon Moyle during the COVID lockdowns of 2020. It began as a series of vinyl-only livestreams, using the records that shaped Adelaide clubs and raves to reconnect a community suddenly separated from its dancefloors. The response carried Vinyl Destination beyond the screen, including two sold-out Adelaide Festival performances in 2021 and an ongoing program of all-vinyl events. At its heart is the preservation and celebration of Adelaide dance culture: house, rave and club music presented by the DJs and MCs who helped build the scene, while welcoming people discovering it for the first time. That history also moved onto film with Vinyl Destination: The Documentary, released on YouTube and featuring pioneers of the local dance scene. More than nostalgia, Vinyl Destination treats the music, stories and friendships of Adelaide’s club years as a living culture — still played, shared and experienced on vinyl.
