James Ingram

James Ingram is one of the original McMahons DJs, which places him firmly in Adelaide's late eighties and early nineties club era rather than in its current one. McMahons ran at Tonsley and Salisbury and was an institution across those years, bringing Technotronic, Black Box and 2 Unlimited through its doors along with a long run of national acts. It also turns up in the earliest documented Adelaide rave listings, hosting Fundamentals in July 1992, which puts the venue right at the point where the suburban club circuit and the emerging rave scene overlapped. The reunions have been running for a while now and selling out each time. In June the night returned again as McMahons: Back Once Again at the Arkaba Hotel in Frewville, with Ingram back on the decks alongside Steve Hooper, playing the old school anthems under the same style of lighting rig the room ran on the first time around.
