Captian Kirk is one of the MCs who worked The Planet, which places him squarely in Adelaide's golden era of clubbing rather than in its current one. The Planet opened on Pirie Street in 1994 and became the city's premier room almost immediately. At its height it pulled six thousand people across a weekend, with two thousand packed onto its two floors at once and queues running down the street to get in. It closed in 2004 after a protracted legal dispute and the building sat empty for the better part of two decades afterwards. In July the night came back for one evening, staged at SORA on the same street, with Kirk on the decks alongside Flash, Reelax, Justice, FBI, Jules and Mischief. He also played MAYDAY 2.0 in the courtyard of the Old Adelaide Gaol, an outdoor fancy dress party nineteen locals deep, with Kid Kenobi, MC Shureshock and Nik Fish brought in from interstate for the occasion.
