Gootz
Gootz is an Adelaide DJ and broadcaster whose main body of work is DropZone Radio, a weekly two hour show dedicated to the latest in trance and progressive. It has been running since 2021 and goes out through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and iHeart, which puts a local Adelaide show in front of an audience well beyond South Australia.
The selections lean uplifting and tech leaning by turns, with a weekly Future Classic pick and the occasional themed edition, including a full show given over to acid trance. Names that recur across the playlists tell you the territory: Bryan Kearney, John O'Callaghan, Simon Patterson and Giuseppe Ottaviani sit alongside Yotto, Sultan and Shepard, CamelPhat and Anyma.
Behind the decks he played MAYDAY 2.0 at the Old Adelaide Gaol, an outdoor fancy dress party in the historic prison courtyard, on a nineteen strong local bill under Kid Kenobi, MC Shureshock and Nik Fish.
