Osyris aka Jesse House
DJ Osyris is Adelaide turntablist Jesse House, a two-time Australian DMC champion whose connection to DJ culture began after seeing Grooverider at Ultraworld in 1998. Developing his craft through the early 2000s, he won South Australian DMC qualifiers in 2008, 2013 and 2016, reached the 2008 IDA Australasian final, then claimed consecutive Australian DMC titles in 2016 and 2017. The latter sent him to London to represent Australia at the DMC World Final.
Beyond battle routines, Osyris is a versatile club and touring DJ whose sets span hip-hop, funk, soul, R&B and drum & bass. He held a long-running residency at Adelaide institution Zhivago and toured with Golden Era Records artist K21. Career highlights include supporting Public Enemy—his favourite band—as well as Grandmaster Flash, DJ Z-Trip and Lazy Grey. Influenced by Mix Master Mike, DJ Shadow, D-Styles, QBert and Australian turntablists, Osyris combines technical precision with the musical judgement needed to move a dance floor.
