Accent of Sound aka James Corbett

Also known as: James Corbett
Accent of Sound is the bush and psychedelic techno alias of Adelaide-born DJ and producer James Corbett. Corbett began DJing in 2001 with hard house and trance before becoming known for full-on psytrance under his name. Accent of Sound takes that experience into driving techno, joining deep grooves, melody, peak-time force and psy-tech textures in paced sets. The project is a regular at Ancient World and Doof Techno, including the party’s 2025 launch, Summer Series and first birthday. A 2025 appearance reunited him with Devious for their first back-to-back set in more than a decade. Corbett co-founded Psy-ence Fiction in 2011, co-runs PsyCabaret and leads Doof Techno, bringing Australian and international psy and techno artists to Adelaide. His career includes festivals in Australia and overseas, label representation for United Beats Records, production and music media. Accent of Sound is the darker, techno-focused side of his work, built for late-night rooms and outdoor dance floors.
