Doof Techno is an Adelaide underground party series run by promoter James Corbett. Created to fill a space in the city’s techno scene, it brings the deep, driving character of outdoor doofs into intimate club rooms, with bush techno, psytech and hypnotic sounds at its core. The music can stretch through minimal, progressive, melodic, peak-time and harder territory, but every program is built as a journey rather than a collection of disconnected sets. Doof Techno balances established local names with emerging selectors, interstate and international guests and label showcases, giving Adelaide artists room to develop while connecting the city with the wider psychedelic-techno community. Its no-phone dancefloor policy is central to the experience: attention stays on the sound, the room and the people sharing it. With thoughtful programming, an inclusive atmosphere and a clear underground identity, Doof Techno is a meeting place for dancers who value presence, musical depth and community.
