James Corbett
Adelaide-born James Corbett has been spinning since 2001, but his relationship with dance music started earlier — discovering late-night shows on BBC Radio 1 in the UK and mixing on twin tape decks at nine.
Today he is a label DJ for United Beats Records with a sound rooted in full-on psy trance: melodic leads, driving bass lines and sets that build energy. He has played Tree of Life Festival in Greece, AUM Festival in New Zealand and Earthcore in Victoria, supporting Ace Ventura, Astrix and Infected Mushroom.
In 2011 he co-founded Psy-ence Fiction with Adam Stapleton — the brand that put SA on the international psy trance map, bringing GMS, Juno Reactor and Vini Vici to Adelaide.
Beyond the decks: co-producer of the documentary Decks and the City, founder of radio show Psyence Lab, and contributor to DJ Mag and Inthemix.
In April 2026 he appears at both the Art of DJing seminar and the eXPEDITIONS event at Atlantis.
