Adam Stapleton, also billed as Imprint, is an Adelaide progressive psytrance DJ and promoter associated with Psy-ence Fiction. He co-founded the series with James Corbett in 2011, helping establish a home for psychedelic trance and bringing acts to Adelaide. The pair have also performed as The Psy-entists, alongside resident sets and rotating guests. Adam’s style favours structure, driving bass and controlled tension, building the room patiently rather than rushing toward peak intensity. A 2015 appearance supporting GMS and 1200 Micrograms at HQ was noted for the way he reduced and reintroduced the bass while holding the crowd’s anticipation. His performance history includes Aurora Festival, DNActivated Festival, Earthdream and Psy-ence Fiction events in Adelaide and Sydney. His SoundCloud mixes document his festival sound and the event brand’s growth. More than a decade after launching Psy-ence Fiction, Adam remains part of Adelaide’s psytrance network as a selector and organiser.
