Julia aka Julia Ametov

Julia is Julia Ametov, an Adelaide DJ and producer whose range has narrowed and deepened in a fairly short space of time. The 2025 mixes cover both ends of the spectrum, one of hard and fast material built around Kobosil, Alignment and Ueberrest, another of tech house bangers. Since then the focus has shifted firmly toward psy. Her own productions arrived in a single burst in May, with Transformation, Fracture and Night Owl all going up on the same day. A psytrance mix built on Ace Ventura, Talamasca and Mad Maxx followed a fortnight later, then a prog psy and psytrance set recorded live at the Cowbell Winter Solstice doof in June. Doof Techno has become her home. She has played three of their nights at Ancient World, including the first birthday with Haptic's live cube show, and returns in September for Koda from Argentina, on a no phone dancefloor built for minimal and psy techno.
