Wyx

WYX is James, an Adelaide DJ with more than two decades behind the decks and a deep attachment to bass-heavy electronic music. His sets move through house, techno, UK garage, dubstep, UK bass and electronica, favouring thick low-end, steady momentum and unexpected turns over a fixed formula. He is also a founder and curator of Void Heaven, the Adelaide collective behind warehouse gatherings and underground parties centred on adventurous house and techno. Through Void Heaven, WYX has helped provide early opportunities for local DJs while shaping line-ups made for dancers. His appearances include Void Heaven’s warehouse event at The Blank Space, DM for Address at ILA during Fringe, Katharsis and tOAStjam’s outdoor park parties at Bonython Park. Online mixes document his range, from a techno and house Park Party recording to later UK garage, house, UK bass and dubstep sessions. Experienced but still curious, WYX joins long-held dance-floor instincts with an appetite for new music.
