Ben James

Ben James is an Adelaide DJ, event organiser and nightlife photographer working across the city’s club community. His sets are open format, moving between bass music, techno, psytrance and other club styles rather than remaining within one genre. He developed his performance experience through Wickid Thursdayz, the open-decks series run by Wickid Lickwid, where his selections earned him a place on the collective’s first-anniversary party at Ancient World in July 2026. James also organised the first Behind The Door event at The Little Red Door in September 2025, programming four Adelaide artists across jungle, liquid drum & bass, jump-up and neurofunk. Away from the decks, he documents parties through Ben James Photography, with his images appearing across Wickid Lickwid and Adelaide bass-community pages. His work connects three parts of the scene: playing electronic sets, providing emerging DJs with performance opportunities and preserving Adelaide events through photography.
