tOAStjam aka Chris P.

tOAStjam is an Adelaide bass-music collective run by DJ and organiser Chris P, known behind the decks as Counterpart. Active since at least 2024, the project grew through free parties in parks and warehouses, combining dubstep, drum and bass and related low-end sounds with couches, food, projected visuals, custom lighting and a shared-space ethos. Its numbered tOASt gatherings feature large local line-ups, while the REWIND parties reconnect Adelaide's early dubstep generation with newer selectors through old-school dubstep, breakstep, UK garage and future garage. In 2026, tOAStjam introduced a producers-only format at Low Life Basement Bar, where six Adelaide artists played solely their own music and helped program visuals for their sets. The first 60 ticket sales went entirely to the performers. Whether presenting an outdoor session or a packed basement showcase, tOAStjam places Adelaide-made music, artist support, harm reduction and community participation ahead of commercial polish.
