Rylenol is the bass-focused alias of Adelaide DJ Tallum Ryle, a selector drawn to the darker, heavier and more experimental edges of electronic music. His sets move through dubstep, trap, drum & bass and techno, favouring deep low-end pressure, wonky rhythms and hard-hitting drops while leaving room for unexpected changes of pace. Describing himself as a “dark n heavy beat wizard,” Rylenol has become a familiar presence within Adelaide’s underground bass and doof communities, appearing at club nights, outdoor gatherings and showcases. He is also one third of SA Water Bois alongside Cueslash and Zeph. The trio bring their individual tastes together for extended journeys across dubstep, bass and drum & bass, including recorded appearances at Wavecult’s Imbolc gathering. Whether performing alone or as part of SA Water Bois, Rylenol approaches a set with a playful streak and a clear affection for weighty, unconventional sounds designed for large sound systems and late-night dancefloors.
