D-wade aka Dana-wade Joyce
D-Wade is the Adelaide DJ alias of New Zealand-born musician and producer Dana-Wade Joyce, whose sets move through dubstep, drum & bass and bass music while drawing on a wider musical background. His approach favours tribal percussion, organic textures and rhythm-heavy selections, giving the project a different character from straight club-focused bass sets. In Adelaide he has appeared at tOASt in Bonython Park, Cows with Gun Fingers at The Little Red Door and REWIND: The Dubstep Reunion Party, joining artists from several generations of the city’s bass community. An earlier recording credit under his full name also appears on the 2009 CAAMA Music compilation Desert Pop Music Lock and Drop, where Dana Wade Joyce performs “How We Do”, suggesting his recorded music history predates the D-Wade club project by many years. D-Wade now sits within Adelaide’s current bass circuit while retaining the rhythmic and organic influences that shape his selections and productions.
