Ktraps is Kieran Chaplin, an Adelaide DJ working across trap, wave, freeform and drum & bass, which is a wider spread than most manage and about as close to a genre statement as he offers. Competitions have been the route so far. He took the Saturday wildcard at Your Shot in 2023, and has entered mixes for Triggafingaz and the Higher Grnd DJ competition alongside a Wook Bass Invade set. Listen Out has carried a discount code under his name, which suggests a working relationship with the festival that goes beyond a single booking. There is a second craft running underneath all of it. He operates Neonplex, doing motion graphics, promos and logos for the scene around him, and his booking address runs through that domain rather than a personal one. In March, wavecult had him on Darkness002 at Ancient World, a night built on shadowy bass and deep electronic sound, sharing the bill with Arna, Immerse and H3idrun.
