Vilen aka Scott Hastings

Vilen is Scott Hastings, an Adelaide DJ and producer who has been in drum & bass since 1999. The sets run deep neurofunk and techy rolling, and the rooms behind him read like a history of the city's dance floors: Heaven and HQ, Traffic, Soda Room, Black Cat, the Crown & Sceptre, Soho, the Cargo Club and the Enchanted parties. Warm up duties have put him under Goldie, Noisia, Marcus Intalex, Icicle, Dom & Roland, Teebee, Matrix and Klute, and he has shared local bills with Jason, Filter, Mark 7, Rumble, Kiddo and Patch. Fresh 92.7 has had him on both Rollers and Resonation. Production started in 2003 and has picked up over the last five years, with three EPs, three singles and two compilation appearances landing on UK labels. Icebreaker, Destination Point, Snakebite and Penny Dreadful all sit on SoundCloud, along with Never Be Yours, a collaboration with Faults. He also helped open LRD Sessions at the Little Red Door, launching the night with Patch and Bakup.
