Weez aka Drew Rankine

Weez is Drew Rankine, an Adelaide drum & bass DJ with a taste for the liquid end of the genre. The one mix he has put up publicly is called Liquid Classics, which tells you plainly enough where the crates point: the smoother, more melodic side of the music rather than the heavy end. He turned out for the second instalment of LRD Sessions at the Little Red Door on Hindley Street, a night built to put local drum & bass DJs in front of a small room rather than around a visiting headliner. Twenty dollars on the door, capacity kept deliberately tight, and a bill of Amorositie, Vilen, Bakup, Frontbar and Pase alongside him. His SoundCloud still sits under an unclaimed default username, with that single upload on it since 2020. It reads as the profile of someone who plays rather than posts, which in a scene that documents itself as heavily as Adelaide's does counts as a choice rather than an oversight.
