Ez Now is an Adelaide bass music party series run by DJ and producer Gunda G. Active since at least 2014, it has worked closely with Ancient World, using the Hindley Street basement for intimate, low-end-focused nights. Its programming treats bass music as a broad field, moving through dubstep, grime, UK garage, footwork, juke, jungle and drum and bass rather than staying with one tempo. Events including Throwdown, May-Hem, Spring Mashup, Gunda’s Birthday Jam and Sister Selectors bring together Adelaide DJs. Lineups have featured Fiction, Lottie B, LIS/n, Doubtless, Cra$h_Out, Bibbee Zee and others, with each selector given room to follow a different corner of the bass spectrum. Affordable early entry and extended sets help build the floor from opening time. Ez Now’s identity rests on proper bassweight, hand-picked lineups and a close relationship with Adelaide’s underground community, making the series a meeting point for listeners who prefer soundsystem music in its many forms.
