Agent 86 aka Nigel Reynolds
Also known as: Nigel
Agent 86 is the DJ and production alias of Nigel Reynolds, an Adelaide-born selector whose career began at The Tunnel in 1989. He went on to establish the Adrenalin and Hell nights before becoming a Metro resident in 1991–92 alongside Angu$, PhD, Scott Thompson and HMC, then worked at Central Station Records while holding Adelaide residencies including the Crown & Sceptre with HMC in the mid-1990s. Reynolds moved to Melbourne in late 2000, where his open-format approach — spanning hip-hop, funk, house, techno, electro, disco, rock and pop — became his calling card. His work has taken him through clubs, raves, festivals, radio and production, with appearances in Australia and overseas. Inpress Magazine named him Live Act of the Year in 2007, DJ of the Year in 2008 and DJ/Producer of the Year in 2009. He also founded Lightspeed Recordings and has released original tracks, edits and remixes while remaining closely tied to Adelaide’s early club and rave history.
