Troy J Been is a former general manager of Fresh 92.7, which puts him on both sides of the Adelaide record scene: a DJ in his own right, and the sort of person who spends more time putting other diggers in a room together. His recorded output is deliberately minimal, one Cosmic Lounge mix from back in 2018. He was on the sellers list for Digs at Bigs, the boutique fair at the late Biggies at Bertram, where the rule was one carefully chosen crate each across funk, soul, disco, boogie, jazz and hip hop. Oisima, Disco Is Not A Dirty Word, Delta and the internationally sought DJ Penfold sold alongside him. The Curated Record Fair at Smokelovers carries that model forward with him running it. Soul, funk, disco, house, techno and hip hop, handpicked by Adelaide DJs and collectors, with listening stations so buyers can hear before committing. HMC brought crates under both his names, alongside PhD, Delta, Ross J, Monty and Disco Ingrid.
