Stevie King aka Stephen King

Stevie King, also credited as Stephen King, is an Adelaide DJ, producer and former host of Midnight Oasis on Three D Radio 93.7FM. His musical foundation lies in disco, funk, soul and house, with selections shaped by the instincts of a longtime record collector and radio presenter. King made his production debut through the Virgo Type alias, releasing a three-track vinyl EP on KAT Records in 2017. He followed in 2018 with Free Refills for the Broken Hearted, his first EP under his own name, issued by London disco label Midnight Riot. Its four tracks move through loose percussion, soulful grooves, jazz-flecked instrumentation and disco-funk energy. His track It's So Easy later appeared on Midnight Riot's Take It to Church Vol. 2 compilation in 2019. King's place in Adelaide's record culture is reflected in appearances such as the Curated Record Fair at Smokelovers, where he joined local DJs, producers and sellers presenting handpicked soul, funk, disco, house, techno and hip hop.
