Filthy Rich aka Richard Stone
Filthy Rich, aka Richard Stone, is an Adelaide-born DJ, producer and audio engineer whose career spans more than three decades across Australia and the UK. Known earlier as DJ 2EZ and associated with Soul Phonic, he became part of Adelaide club history through Le Rox, The Club and the Boxing Night Reunion. After moving to London in the 1990s, Stone formed a close working relationship with DJ Harvey and served as an engineer during Harvey’s rise as a remixer. Their studio work included projects connected with Ian Brown, The Brand New Heavies, UFO, Jamiroquai and The Avalanches, with the pair also sharing DJ appearances. Filthy Rich’s selections move through house, disco, soul, funk, rare groove, reggae and dub, reflecting a collection built across several eras. International appearances include a 2018 Rhythm Method date at Bar Bonobo in Tokyo alongside Guy Bassett and Ken Hidaka. He is now based again in Australia.
