EssBee is Shane Brooks, an Adelaide MC who works the mic rather than the decks. The handle he uses online, essbeejunglist, gives away where the allegiance sits, and drum & bass is where nearly all the work has been. The measure of his standing came in November 2025, when Our Sound put him on the billed MC roster for the city's official drum & bass festival at Bonython Park, a two stage bill topped by Wilkinson and Pendulum with Danny Byrd and Ed Rush behind them. He shared that duty with Griff, Pab and Pase, the same names he turns up with across the local circuit. Beyond the festival he has hosted the room for visiting acts including Bailey's three hour set at Zhivago, QZB and Charli Brix on Easter Sunday at Mala Mia, and Future Engineers and Dauntless at Club Deep. He was on the mic for Inbound's 28th birthday at the Crown and Sceptre, and for A Day at the Beach at Glenelg with Felix Da Housecat and Grooverider.
