Inbound turned twenty eight in 2026, which makes it one of the longest running drum & bass institutions in the country. It began in 1998 and has been run throughout by Fiction, who took the name across three fronts at once: the club night, the record label, and the shop. The store is the part that reached furthest. Inbound Records traded as Australia's leading retailer for drum & bass, jungle, dubstep and bass music on vinyl, stocking hard dance, breaks and house alongside the bags, cartridges and headphones that go with them. The nights have brought the genre's architects to Adelaide across nearly three decades, most recently DJ Bailey of Metalheadz and Intabeats for a three hour set across two stages at Zhivago, run jointly with AirDNB. For the twenty eighth birthday the crew went back to the Crown and Sceptre, where it all started, with Patch, Kiddo, Mikey, Gunda G and DT3 alongside Fiction.
