Atlantis

Atlantis

Light Square, Adelaide
+61487586334
Capacity: 473
Atlantis sits at 163 Waymouth Street on the northwest corner of Light Square, and it has led two quite different lives. The old version was a dark nightclub famous for its mermaid tank. In 2019 Blaise and Matt Brown took over the run down space and reopened it as a light, airy cocktail bar, keeping the name and the aquarium and dropping just about everything else. The layout suits both moods. The main lounge holds around 300 with two bars and a dance floor, and The Palm, the covered courtyard opening onto Waymouth Street, takes another 300 under real palm trees. Total capacity runs to 473. Walls are brick and hard surfaced, so it gets loud near the speakers. Dance events use the indoor and outdoor split. Dance Floor Heretics run eXPEDITIONS across two rooms of house, progressive, trance and melodic techno, while Reunion Festival bring their Long Weekender here for house, disco and classics.
