Rocket Bar & Rooftop

Rocket Bar sits in the middle of the Crippen Place complex off Hindley Street, the same stack that holds Electric Circus in the basement and Mr Kim's on the ground floor. The bar itself is a long standing live music room, and above it the Rooftop runs as an open air space for around 100 people, with a lawn, a palm tree, retro decor, table service and an open air cinema. Heaters and undercover areas keep it working right through the year. The programming is unusually varied for one venue, and much of it comes from the house DJs rather than touring names. No Requests No Regrets asks selectors to ignore the crowd entirely and dig deep into their own collections. Long-play Selections is strictly vinyl, tracks left to run their full length. Rocket FM leans bass heavy and free before midnight, and Drain The Taps runs on eight dollar cocktails. Doors go until dawn, Wednesday through Saturday.
