District 84

District sits at 84 Hindley Street and is one of the larger multi room clubs in the West End. Three rooms run different sounds under the one roof: a main hall for house and techno, a Boiler Room for hard dance, and an Urban Room for hip hop and RnB. Add four bars, VIP booths along the edges and a sizeable beer garden, and it covers most tastes in a single night. Week to week it leans commercial, with hip hop and RnB Fridays and party anthem Saturdays running through to five in the morning. Around that sit one off takeovers, tour after parties and over thirties daytime clubbing sessions. The room does something more interesting when a promoter wants 360 degrees. Fresh 92.7 marked twenty eight years here with a boiler room style takeover, fifteen DJs surrounding the crowd rather than facing it, and District DnB now runs monthly in the same format, pulling in local, interstate and international names.
