Medea is an Adelaide DJ dealing in hypnotic blends of techno, house and dub, and the pitch is refreshingly direct: get out of your head and into your body. Basements, warehouses, nightclubs, open fields under the stars, all of it treated as much the same job. Tidal Pull is the anchor, a show on duck! radio running since early 2023 and typically stretching to a full two hours. The genre tags across it cover far more ground than the format implies, from dub techno and percussive through abstract techno, ambient, psychedelic, leftfield and Egyptian shaabi. A November 2023 edition went out in support of a free Palestine, built around Muslimgauze and dub. Before that came the dj who? sets at Subvert back in 2022. In April, Dubvert put her at Ancient World when UK dubwise heavyweight Dub Athlete came through, on a late night bill with Skorpion King, Mr John and Ninja.
