Alix aka Alix Kuijpers

ALIX is the DJ and electronic-music side of Adelaide multidisciplinary artist Alix Kuijpers, whose practice spans sound design, choreography and performance. Kuijpers creates original scores for their own work and for other Australian and international artists, with commissions spanning contemporary dance, theatre and circus. Their sound work has accompanied projects including IMMATERIAL, i know the end and Grim Grinning Ghosts, while collaborations have included Motus Collective, Circus SA, Silverfish and choreographers working across Australia and Europe. As a DJ, ALIX brings that experimental background into the club, favouring electronic music that moves between fractured rhythms, pop, industrial textures and leftfield club sounds. They have also appeared with H34VEN0N34RTH, including RIPT VOL II alongside Blood of Aza, Lonelyspeck, MFG and ASPECT. The project sits naturally between Adelaide’s contemporary dance world and its experimental electronic underground.
