Skorpion King aka Daria H.

SKORPION KING is an Adelaide DJ who mostly plays back to back with Mr. John, building expressive, safer dancefloors. Together they run DEEPTANK, which has helped revive Adelaide’s underground dubstep scene through sound system culture, harm reduction, community and deep listening, hosting heavyweights Sepia, Ickle, Sub Basics and Coki from the UK and Leo Cap from Thailand. SKORPION KING also co-hosted Seashell Music: For Psychic Enhancement & Sonic Relief on duck! radio with Dom and Mr. John, ranging from ambient and gamelan to footwork, Memphis rap and heavy metal. Their solo mixes swing as wide, from the half-time footwork of Chopped N Slopped to Murmur_01, two and a half hours of soul and experimental instrumentals fed through a Line 6 DL4. A member of Groundcover, a FLINTA*-run community sound system, and Sounds*Different, SKORPION KING centres intersectionality, accessibility, mentoring and resource-sharing over individual success.
