Three D Radio 93.7FM
Three D Radio 93.7FM is Adelaide’s long-running volunteer-run community station for progressive, alternative and independent music. It began broadcasting at midnight on 21 December 1979 as 5MMM, following the formation of the Progressive Music Broadcasting Association in 1978, and became Three D Radio in 1993. Broadcasting from St Peters under the callsign 5DDD, the station has no central playlist: its volunteer announcers choose their own music across dozens of weekly programs. Local South Australian artists have always been central to Three D, alongside Australian, independent and under-represented music. The station also supports Adelaide’s live music community through interviews, live sessions, specialist programs and its annual Top 93+7 countdown. More than four decades on, Three D remains one of Adelaide’s enduring homes for local music and independent radio.
