Raw Like Sushi is a long-running Three D Radio show hosted by Adelaide DJ and selector Sam Walker, moving through Afro, jazz, funk, soul, disco, beats, world music and new grooves. The program is built around adventurous selection, connecting dancefloor records with deeper listening music, old favourites and sounds that rarely fit neatly into one genre. Since beginning in 2008, Raw Like Sushi has also become a platform for guest DJs, musicians and selectors, with a strong focus on South Australian artists and Adelaide’s underground music community. Walker’s record collecting and DJ background shape the show, while interviews and guest sessions bring extra context to the music. At its core, Raw Like Sushi is about digging widely, sharing good records and giving local music people room to be heard.
