Tjikk — Adelaide DJ

Tjikk aka Margie Jean Lewis

TJIKK is the experimental electronic project of Adelaide-born musician and composer Margie Jean Lewis. A classically trained violinist and jazz vocalist, Lewis spent 13 years living and working in Dublin, where her performances combined voice, loops, electronics and antique instruments. Under TJIKK, she works with field recordings from natural and industrial environments, shaping them into electronic compositions and live performance. The seven-track Malamuut EP, released in July 2020, includes studio pieces and a recording made at Adelaide’s Joinery. Lewis also appears on New Jackson’s 2017 track There Will Always Be This Love, released through Permanent Vacation. Since returning to South Australia, her work has crossed music, visual art and performance, including soundtrack composition for the Art Gallery of South Australia and collaborations with vocalist and sound artist Georgia Oatley. TJIKK joined Lost City’s multi-genre program at Lion Arts Factory with other electronic artists.
