Sunny

Sunny is an Adelaide DJ and a figure in the city’s electronic community through her work at Closer Record Store in Glenelg. Surrounded by records and in-store sessions, she has developed an outlook rooted in careful listening, club culture and the connections built around a record counter. Behind the decks, Sunny moves through progressive house, minimal and techno, favouring hypnotic rhythm, understated detail and tracks that reveal their character over time. Her résumé includes Acetic’s SWARM at Ancient World, a two-room gathering spanning deep, wonky minimal and pumping progressive sounds. She has also joined Deja Vu’s local support roster at the venue, appearing alongside Arachnid, Arna and DRK for German duo Space Drum Meditation. That booking placed her within a night shaped by tribal percussion, ambient electronics and abstract techno. Sunny’s growing presence reflects the crossover between Adelaide’s independent record-store culture and its intimate underground dance floors.
