Rhyziel aka Rhys Hampton

Rhyziel is the DJ alias of Rhys Hampton, an Adelaide selector whose path through the city’s underground began at Cuckoo in the early 2010s. After gaining experience across small bars and club rooms, he became a familiar name at Sugar and on bills covering house, minimal, acid, electro and techno. His sets favour patient movement, low-slung rhythm and momentum, with an ear for records that hold a room without relying on obvious peaks. Rhyziel has appeared for Adelaide promoter The Front Room, supporting Markus Homm at its sixth birthday and joining Solace for an open-air bill headed by Dubfire and Juliet Fox. Other appearances include Inside Out x Local Chaos at Sugar, Wiggle’s 30-year celebration and Front Room’s ninth birthday. He has contributed a mix to Sugar Recordings, the club’s online series. Still active in South Australia, Rhyziel continues alongside Solace and other local selectors, with a 2026 appearance supporting Oliver Huntemann adding another techno booking to his CV.
