Funk Fusion aka Darren Macklin

Funk Fusion is Darren Macklin, an Adelaide DJ who has been running the name for about fifteen years now, playing disco and house at the daylight end of the calendar. The bookings tell you the territory. Wines & Good Times has had him twice this year, first for Good Friday at 2KW on King William Street, a rooftop session that opened at two in the afternoon with a free spritz hour and ran from skyline sun through to stars, then for the Long Weekender at Mala Mia in June, nine o'clock till late on disco and house. Both were shared with much the same rotating cast, with Ezee G, Audioporn and Souli among them. Outside the city he works the wine country. His one public recording is a live set from Dowie Doole over in McLaren Vale, which is about as clear a statement of intent as a single upload can manage: good records, good wine, and a room that wants to move without being shouted at.
