Dav, aka Davin Smith, is an Adelaide DJ whose involvement in the city’s dance scene dates back to 1992. Across the 1990s and 2000s he played clubs, raves and major events including Heaven, HQ, Enchanted and Anthems, appearing on bills spanning old-school rave, trance, house and harder dance music. Archived Anthems material also lists him as Davin, including Christmas Anthems, Trance Anthems and Arkaba Anthems. Smith was also involved in the formative years of Fresh FM, later Fresh 92.7, adding radio to a career rooted in Adelaide club culture. More recently he has returned through Anthems and its OverTime after-hours series, often playing extended back-to-back sets with Lissie alongside MC Rudeboy. More than three decades after he began DJing, Dav remains closely connected to Adelaide’s early rave community, playing the records and styles that shaped those rooms while linking the original scene with its present-day reunions.
