The Walkers Arms Hotel
36 North East Road, Walkerville

Capacity: 780
The Walkers Arms was established in 1839, just three years after the first settlers landed, which makes it about as old as South Australia itself. The original inn sat closer to the River Torrens and was advertised for sale in 1840 as a well built public house, well stocked with fruit trees.
An electrical fire gutted the building in November 2007. The Dean Group rebuilt it from the ground up over two years, recycling ninety percent of the demolition waste, and reopened it in 2010 with two dining rooms, a fourteen metre marble bar, twenty solar powered accommodation suites and a ninety one thousand litre rainwater tank. Capacity now runs to 780.
The beer garden is where the music happens, complete with an outdoor LED super screen. Souled Out Sundays runs there from the afternoon with Dave Collins and Jason Lee on soul, funk, house and disco, and nineties parties fill it out otherwise.
