SORA
L9/89 Pirie St, Adelaide

SORA opened in January 2024 on level nine of the historic Pirie House, and the name comes from the Japanese word for sky. Tarik Nasser-Eddine and Giuseppe Alvaro built it as a single destination combining food, drinks and entertainment, with executive chef Adam Liston running a modern Asian menu of fire cooked Eyre Peninsula seafood, handmade dumplings and wagyu.
The venue splits across two levels and holds around 400. Restaurant below, rooftop terrace above with booths, high tables and a roof that opens right up on warm nights, plus a dance floor with a DJ booth and a cigar vault stocked with rare aged whiskies and large format Champagnes.
That dance floor has carried some serious nostalgia. The Planet came back to Pirie Street here for a reunion of its original DJs, and Euphoria and Temple Of Dance brought Sunset Bros and a live Christina Novelli set in for a night of trance and NRG.
